We work with nutrition advisers from the Healthy Heart Foundation and are currently working towards gaining our silver award.
We provide a rolling four week menu, which changes twice a year in summer and winter. We provide morning tea, a cooked lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack for those that are here after 5pm.
Our whole foods menu includes a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and unprocessed protein including chicken, full fat dairy and eggs. All our ingredients are sourced locally and there are no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or refined sugar in the food we serve.
We believe it is important to consistently expose children to a range of colours, textures and flavours so they learn to appreciate a variety of foods. We also believe that every child deserves to understand how nutritious food helps them feel good and be full of energy, so we teach them about what they eat.
Specific menus are created to cater for tamariki with specific dietary requirements and food allergies. A menu is also created to provide meals for our tamariki under 1 to fit within the Ministry of Education health choking guidelines.
We certainly don’t hold back when it comes to ensuring our nutritious meals are fresh, healthy, full of goodness and, most importantly, loved by little taste buds.
